Talking about your ideas takes power away from them.
When you tell someone your idea it can go one of 3 ways. You can get good feedback, bad feedback or your idea stolen (rare). ALL 3 of these are evil.
Good Feedback: Releases endorphins that make you feel as if you have already accomplished your goal. People telling you your idea is awesome is 80% of how it feels to produce the result. Some people are just “pat on the back junkies”.
Bad Feedback: Takes the wind out of your sails. Especially coming from someone you respect.
Idea Theft: Rare but possible. This sucks and I don’t have to explain why.
My advice is simple. Keep your ideas a secret until you produce a result.
